Who Isn’t the Heysung HS-6000 AI Ideal For?

The Heysung HS-6000 is a pulse induction (PI) metal detector, a technology well-known for its gold detection capabilities. However, unlike PI detectors favored by hobbyist gold prospectors for finding small nuggets or veins, the HS-6000 is not designed for small gold deposits detection (small: nuggets, veins, deposts.). Instead, it excels in deep-seeking applications, making it an ideal tool for objects  the size of a coin or larger for relic hunters, cache hunters, archaeologists, and contractors searching for larger buried objects. While it can still be used for gold prospecting, its true strength for prospectors lies in detecting significant gold deposits or veins, the kind sought after by mining operations, rather than small-scale prospecting for flakes and nuggets.

Heysung HS-6000 AI Detection Depth

The Heysung HS-6000 AI is engineered for detecting deep targets. Utilizing pulse induction (PI) technology combined with a ground balance system (GBS), its depth detection capabilities depend on factors such as target size, shape, material composition, and surrounding mineralization.

With the larger coil, the HS-6000 AI can detect metal objects buried up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) deep. This makes it particularly well-suited for locating deeply buried relics, treasure caches, and large metallic objects such as pipes or big conduit

To break it down with each HS-6000 AI coil size and target size can detect:

  • Small Targets (≈3 inches in size):
    • Detectable at up to 3.6 feet (1.1 meters) deep with the smaller coil
    • Detectable at up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) deep with the larger coil
  • Larger Targets (≈23 inches in size):
    • Detectable at up to 11.9 feet (3.6 meters) deep with the smaller coil
    • Detectable at up to 15 feet (4.6 meters) deep with the larger coil

Understanding the Two Coil Sizes of the HeySung HS-6000

The Heysung HS-6000 is equipped with two search coils: a 1-meter × 1-meter coil and a 2-meter × 2-meter coil, each designed for specific detection applications.

The 1m × 1m coil provides greater sensitivity to medium-sized targets and is optimized for highly mineralized environments, where precise target identification and discrimination are critical. Due to its compact size, this coil excels in tight, confined spaces, offering enhanced maneuverability in areas where the larger coil may be impractical. This makes it particularly effective for detecting smaller relics, metallic objects, and shallow to moderately deep targets.

In contrast, the 2m × 2m coil is designed for maximum depth penetration, making it the preferred choice for locating large, deeply buried targets. This coil is especially well-suited for cache hunting, archaeological digs, and the recovery of deeply buried relics and treasure hoards, where greater detection depth is required.

The support arms are constructed from lightweight carbon fiber, ensuring structural integrity, durability, and reduced operator fatigue. The search coil winding configuration also differs between the two coils: the smaller coil utilizes a double-loop winding, while the larger coil features a single-loop configuration, optimizing their respective detection capabilities.

Please note that when using the smaller coil, the wire may appear loose rather than taut, but this does not impact the performance or functionality of the Heysung HS-6000.
